Erosion degradation affects asset integrity as well as aerodynamic performance. Due to the high O&M schedule costs caused by this type of damage, identifying and managing leading and trailing edge damage can greatly enhance your rotor blades life span. As erosion grows, turbines develop less power because the aerodynamics are negatively affected and the air can start to delaminate the fibreglass or composite structure beneath it, causing even more damage.
